Buying Gems in Thailand
As long as your not very familiar with gems, don't buy gems in Thailand. There are many reports of cheated farangs in the newspapers all over Thailand. It is very known that many Gems shops sell fake gems and we newer heard of a street or beach vendor selling precious gems at all! Be warned of all that gems vendors from Pakistan and Nigeria as well! They are working in shopping centers in Bangkok mainly, but Nightwalker could see some of them in Pattaya too!
Pattaya Taxi (Baht Busses)
A ride on a Pattaya Taxi costs 10 Baht only.At least for Thai people. For Farangs the Taxi drivers try to get 20 Baht! Don't pay it, unless you ride a very long way, e.g. from Pattaya 3rd road to Big C at 2nd Road, or from Jomtien to Pattaya City. For an ordinary ride from Soi 2 to Walking Street the fare is 5 Baht only
